“I have come to the conclusion that human beings are born with an innate capacity to triumph over trauma. I believe not only that trauma is curable, but that the healing process can be a catalyst for profound awakening—a portal opening to emotional and genuine spiritual transformation.”

― Peter A. Levine

I feel honoured and humbled by the privilege of witnessing the vulnerability that leads to personal transformation within therapy. As the expert of your own life, your agency will remain at the forefront of treatment, as I walk alongside you toward freeing yourself from the emotions and traumas that no longer serve you. Ultimately, my goal is to empower you to become your own therapist.

My approach is informed by the evidence-based belief that every individual has innate resources to overcome traumas that we all inevitably encounter throughout our lives and that it is a birthright to experience such freedom.

I began my career in Mental Health working with the unhoused population in Victoria, BC with Our Place Society. This experience was extremely valuable in my learning about addiction as a way of coping with and adapting to complex and enduring trauma, and stress related to the social dislocation endemic to systems of inequality and injustice.

I then worked as a Women’s Counsellor at the Victoria Women’s Transition House, which gave me the opportunity to learn about the cycle of abuse, and most importantly, the innate capacity we all have to heal ourselves when in an environment characterized by safety and unconditional acceptance.

I currently work as a Mental Health and Addictions Clinician at the Haida Gwaii Hospital. This experience has been rich with learning about culturally informed practices in counselling, specifically when working with Indigenous people.

At my core, I believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to overcome the circumstances of their lives that they did not have control over, to become the most authentic versions of themselves, regardless of their gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status. My own experience engaging in therapy has shown me that it is possible to heal attachment wounds, unlearn limiting social and familial conditioning, and rewire the brain to create a life that reflects your authentic self.

In 2019 I started a non-profit organisation called Raksha Nepal. The NGO organizes therapeutic trekking expeditions in the Himalayan mountains of Nepal for women and girls who have survived sex trafficking and sexual violence. This project highlights my love for the outdoors and my passion for empowering women. I believe strongly in the therapeutic potential that challenging ourselves in the outdoors has to unveil our innate capacity to find resilience, peace, authenticity, and belonging.

I presently live on the traditional ancestral unceded lands of the Haida people in beautiful Haida Gwaii, BC. I feel immense gratitude for having the privilege to spend my free time in the pristine forests and waters here, hiking, surfing, foraging, and kayaking.
